Ovidia IV is a world where noncorporeal beings can create physical bodies with a sense of touch, smell and taste. In Is There in Beauty No Truth?, Gwyn convinces Dal to detour there after the Medusan Ion offers Zero a new body.
Zero joins the Feast of Senses, but Dal and Gwyn learn that these bodies degenerate away from Ovidia IV and that Zero faces the deadly Running of the Nazamon. Dal is snatched by the Nazamon, and Zero rescues him before deciding to risk leaving the planet.
