Nepenthe is the remote, forested planet where William Riker and Deanna Troi live with their daughter Kestra and shelter Picard and Soji.
Nepenthe is a quiet world chosen by William Riker and Deanna Troi as their family home, settled partly in the hope that its environment might help their son Thad, whose treatment was lost when synthetic research was banned. Thad died, and the couple remained on the planet with their daughter Kestra.
In the episode Nepenthe, Picard and Soji escape the Artifact to the planet with Hugh's help. The family feeds and shelters them, Troi helps Soji face her grief at Narek's betrayal, and Kestra helps identify the world from Soji's dreams before La Sirena arrives to collect them.
