American actress who played Vina, the human castaway held by the Talosians, in the first Star Trek pilot, The Cage.
Susan Oliver (1932–1990) was an American actress, television director, aviator and author who appeared in many television series and films and had a recurring role in the drama Peyton Place.
In The Cage Oliver played Vina, the sole survivor of a crashed expedition, whom the Talosians use to tempt Captain Christopher Pike. The Talosians project her in several illusions, most memorably as a green-skinned Orion dancer, before revealing her true, injured appearance. Footage of her performance was later reused in The Menagerie, and she is remembered for the role.
