American actor who played the Klingon officer Worf on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, appearing in more Star Trek episodes than any other regular.
Michael Dorn, an American actor born in 1952, played Worf, the Klingon officer raised by human parents who served as security chief of the Enterprise-D on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Worf's struggle to reconcile his upbringing with his Klingon heritage drove arcs such as Sins of the Father, Reunion and Redemption.
After the series ended, Dorn joined Star Trek: Deep Space Nine from its fourth season through its finale, and he appeared in all four Next Generation films and the third season of Star Trek: Picard. He also played Colonel Worf, the character's ancestor, in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Across five films and roughly 290 television episodes, he has appeared as a regular more often than any other Star Trek actor.
Dorn directed the Deep Space Nine episodes In the Cards, Inquisition and When It Rains..., and the Enterprise episode Two Days and Two Nights. Outside Star Trek he was a regular on CHiPs and has an extensive voice-acting career, including the animated series Gargoyles.
