Chris Pine (born 1980) is an American actor who rose to prominence in romantic comedies such as The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement before being cast in his first major franchise role.
Pine played James T. Kirk in Star Trek (2009), which reimagines the captain as a rebellious young man who joins Starfleet after a recruiting challenge from Christopher Pike and rises to command the Enterprise after Nero's attack. He reprised the role in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), where Kirk faces Khan, and in Star Trek Beyond (2016), where Kirk is stranded with his crew after the Enterprise is destroyed.
His other work includes playing Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984, the western drama Hell or High Water and the series I Am the Night, as well as roles in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
