Dutch actor who played Mr. Homn, the towering and nearly silent valet of Lwaxana Troi, on The Next Generation.
Carel Struycken, a Dutch actor born in 1948, played Mr. Homn, the towering and almost wordless valet of Lwaxana Troi, on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He debuted in the first-season episode Haven and reprised the part in four more episodes through 1992, including Half a Life and Ménage à Troi.
His height made him a memorable presence in several other productions, most notably as the Giant in Twin Peaks and as the butler Lurch in the Addams Family films of the 1990s.
