The 2263 Kelvin-timeline launch of the USS Enterprise-A from Starbase Yorktown, replacing the ship lost at Altamid.
After the original Enterprise was destroyed near Altamid in 2263, a new ship was built for Kirk and his crew at Starbase Yorktown. It was named the USS Enterprise and given the registry NCC-1701-A.
The crew watched its construction while recovering from their battle with Krall. When the new ship was finished, Kirk took command, and the Enterprise-A left Yorktown to continue the crew's five-year mission. It was the second ship of the line to serve under Kirk in this timeline.
