Dying spiritual leader of a Bajoran village whose stories each year drove off the menacing Dal'Rok, and who named O'Brien his successor.
The Sirah is the title held by the storyteller of an isolated Bajoran village in The Storyteller. When O'Brien and Bashir answer a medical call, they find the old Sirah dying while the villagers fear that the Dal'Rok, a threatening energy cloud, will destroy them without him.
He collapses while telling the tale that defeats the Dal'Rok and whispers the end of it to O'Brien, then dies, leaving the chief named as his heir. The crew learns that the first Sirah created the Dal'Rok with a fragment of an Orb to unite the village, and the old Sirah had arranged events so that his apprentice Hovath would learn to lead.
