A Kanutu wise woman on Neural who saved Kirk's life with a root remedy, then sought power through the new weapons on her world.
Nona is the wife of the hill people's leader Tyree on Neural, and a Kanutu, one of the few who know the secrets of healing roots. When Kirk is bitten by a mugato, she saves his life with the mahko root, a remedy that she believes gives her a hold over him.
Ambitious and impatient with her husband's peaceful ways, Nona wants the hill people to have the firearms that the Klingons have given the villagers. She steals Kirk's phaser and takes it to the villagers, but they think she has tricked them and kill her. She was played by Nancy Kovack.
