A Klingon who arms the villagers of Neural with flintlocks, prompting Kirk's controversial decision to arm the hill people.
Krell is the Klingon who has been secretly supplying firearms to the villagers on Neural. In A Private Little War, he works with their leader Apella and plans to expand the villagers' power, and with it Klingon influence, across the planet.
Kirk discovers Krell's activities and responds by supplying weapons to the hill people under Tyree, hoping to maintain a balance of power like that of the twentieth-century superpowers on Earth. Krell's efforts lead to the death of Nona, Tyree's wife. He was played by Ned Romero.
