A Barzan officer who moved from the Enterprise to Discovery as security chief and later served with Starfleet Security in the 32nd century.
Nhan is a Barzan Starfleet officer who served as an engineer and security officer aboard the Enterprise under Christopher Pike. During the crisis over the Red Angel and Control, she transferred to Discovery with two of her crewmates and became the ship's chief of security, then traveled with the ship to the 32nd century.
In 3189 Discovery found the seed ship Tikhov, whose crew was dead except for a fatally injured Barzan. Nhan chose to stay with the Tikhov so that he and his family could receive a proper burial, and she went on to work for Starfleet Security.
She returned when Starfleet assigned her to supervise Discovery during its pursuit of Cleveland Booker and Ruon Tarka. At the anomaly's controller she prepared to order Book's ship destroyed, but Michael Burnham convinced both her and Book to stand down.
