The Klingon mother of B'Elanna Torres, a devout follower of tradition whose daughter rejected their heritage before reconciling with her in a vision.
Miral is B'Elanna Torres's Klingon mother. Raised by her on a Federation colony after her human father left, B'Elanna grew up resenting her Klingon heritage and Miral's devotion to its traditions, and the two had been estranged long before Voyager was lost in the Delta Quadrant.
In Barge of the Dead, Torres has a near-death vision in which she finds Miral aboard the Barge of the Dead bound for Gre'thor, paying for her daughter's dishonour. Torres insists on returning to the vision to save her, and the experience brings her a measure of peace with her mother and her heritage.
Miral appears again in flashbacks to B'Elanna's childhood in Lineage, while B'Elanna faces her fears about her own unborn child. That daughter, Miral Paris, is named after her.
