Haakonian scientist whose metreon cascade weapon destroyed the Talaxian moon of Rinax, and who sought out Neelix years later.
Ma'Bor Jetrel was the Haakonian scientist who developed the metreon cascade, the weapon used to end the war between the Haakonians and Talaxians by annihilating the population of the moon Rinax. Neelix's family were among the dead. Played by James Sloyan, Jetrel came aboard Voyager claiming that Neelix might be suffering from metremia, the lingering disease caused by the weapon.
His true goal was to test a way to reconstitute the victims of Rinax, as a form of atonement before he succumbed to metremia himself. The attempt failed, and in his final hours Neelix chose to forgive him.
