Changeling sent out as an infant like Odo, who urged Odo to abandon the solids and live among his own kind.
Laas is a Changeling, one of the hundred infant Founders sent out across the galaxy to learn about other species, just as Odo once was. Odo meets him during a runabout mission and brings him to Deep Space Nine, where Laas, who distrusts humanoids and wishes only to avoid them, urges Odo to leave with him and live as a true shapeshifter.
In Chimera, Laas kills a Klingon during a confrontation on the Promenade and is arrested. Kira Nerys, knowing what he means to Odo, helps him escape, and he departs to search for the other lost Changelings. He was played by J. G. Hertzler.
