A mysterious Starfleet official who appeared in Discovery's later seasons.
Kovich, played by David Cronenberg, is a Federation official who appears in the third, fourth and fifth seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, after the ship reaches the thirty-second century. Usually called Dr. Kovich, he works closely with Admiral Vance at Federation headquarters, assesses newcomers such as Michael Burnham and Philippa Georgiou, and shows an unusual knowledge of the past.
He moves in the background of several storylines, sometimes helping the crew and sometimes withholding information. In the fifth season he assigns Burnham the secret mission to find the Progenitors' technology before it falls into the wrong hands.
In the series finale he reveals that Kovich is a code name and that he is really Agent Daniels, the temporal agent who once served aboard Enterprise NX-01 under Captain Archer, tying Discovery's future to the Temporal Cold War of Star Trek: Enterprise.
