David Cronenberg is a Canadian filmmaker regarded as a pioneer of body horror, whose films include Scanners, Videodrome, The Fly, Dead Ringers, A History of Violence and Eastern Promises.
Cronenberg also acts from time to time, and on Star Trek: Discovery he played Kovich, an enigmatic 32nd-century Starfleet official tied to Federation intelligence, who first appeared in the third season. Kovich continued to advise and test the Discovery crew in later seasons, often holding more information than he chose to share.
