Kaira is the Khionian fiancée of Darem Reymi, destined to co-rule Khionia with him, who ends their engagement when she sees how he has changed.
Kaira is a Khionian betrothed to the cadet Darem Reymi. In Ko'Zeine, Darem is apparently abducted through a portal, which turns out to be a Khionian pre-wedding ritual, and it is revealed that he is to co-rule Khionia with Kaira several years after he graduates.
Darem names Jay-Den Kraag his Ko'Zeine, or best man. At the reception Jay-Den praises Darem's dedication to duty, but Kaira realizes that Darem is no longer the man she knew and insists that they end the marriage.
