Forra Gegen was a paleontologist among the Voth, a reptilian species that ruled a large region of the Delta Quadrant. He championed the Distant Origin theory, which held that the Voth had come from a faraway world, an idea that contradicted Voth doctrine. Henry Woronicz played the role.
In Distant Origin, Gegen found the remains of Lieutenant Hogan and tracked down Voyager, then brought Chakotay to help argue his case before the elders. Minister Odala put him on trial for heresy and threatened Voyager's crew, and Gegen recanted to save them, but he had planted doubts that would not go away.
