The Enterprise's pilot under Captain Pike.
Erica Ortegas is the helm officer of the USS Enterprise under Captain Pike in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, played by Melissa Navia. She is a confident, irreverent pilot who loves flying and often grumbles when missions keep her away from the action.
She is quick with a joke and teases her crewmates, but she is also a dependable officer who steers the ship through combat and other dangers, and the series occasionally shows her more serious side.
She takes part in the crossover episode Those Old Scientists, in which Brad Boimler and Beckett Mariner of Lower Decks arrive aboard Pike's Enterprise. Ortegas is remembered as a cheerful and capable officer who shows that the Enterprise crew can have fun as well as save the day.
