Dara is the daughter of Timicin, the Kaelon scientist trying to save his world's dying sun. She deeply respects the Kaelon tradition of the Resolution, which calls for each person to end their life at sixty.
In Half a Life, Dara comes aboard the Enterprise after her father seeks asylum to continue his research and stay with Lwaxana Troi. She tells him how ashamed she is of his choice and that she will not be buried beside him, and her plea helps persuade Timicin to return to Kaelon II. She was played by Michelle Forbes.
