An Enterprise officer whose knowledge of ancient Greece made her an object of Apollo's affection, and who rejected him to free the crew.
Carolyn Palamas is a lieutenant and specialist in archaeology and anthropology aboard the Enterprise, and the object of Montgomery Scott's romantic interest. When the being Apollo traps the landing party on Pollux IV, he chooses her as his companion and she is drawn to him.
Kirk persuades her that the crew's freedom depends on her refusal. Despite her feelings, she rejects Apollo, weakening his hold over them and helping the crew destroy his temple. She was played by Leslie Parrish.
