The planet where the being claiming to be the Greek god Apollo traps the Enterprise and demands worship in Who Mourns for Adonais?
Pollux IV is a world in the Beta Geminorum system, where the Enterprise is seized by a giant energy hand in Who Mourns for Adonais? On the surface, the landing party meets a being who calls himself Apollo, survivor of a group of powerful aliens who once visited ancient Greece and were worshipped as gods.
Apollo wants the crew to settle on the planet and worship him, and he courts the Enterprise historian Carolyn Palamas in his temple. His power comes from an energy source in the temple, which the Enterprise eventually destroys with its phasers, leaving Apollo to fade away.
