Peaceful energy beings of the planet Pahvo who seek harmony and summoned both Starfleet and the Klingons to their world during the war.
The Pahvans are noncorporeal beings who live on Pahvo, a planet whose crystalline forests create a natural tonal hum. They value harmony above all and use a giant crystal spire that acts as a transmitter. Starfleet hoped to turn this structure into a tool for detecting cloaked Klingon ships during the Federation-Klingon War.
In the episode Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum, Saru, Michael Burnham and Ash Tyler visited the planet. The Pahvans' influence awakened a powerful sense of peace in Saru, who turned against his crewmates to stay there. Hoping to end the conflict, the Pahvans used their transmitter to invite both the Federation and the Klingons to Pahvo, drawing the flagship of Kol into the system.
