A 23rd-century Starfleet starship class whose best-known member was the USS Shenzhou under Captain Philippa Georgiou.
The Walker-class was an older Starfleet starship design still in service in the 2250s, with a compact saucer, a slender secondary hull and nacelles slung beneath the ship. By the start of the Federation-Klingon War it was already considered an aging type.
The best-known ship of the class was the USS Shenzhou, commanded by Philippa Georgiou with Michael Burnham as first officer. The Shenzhou was at the center of the Battle at the Binary Stars in 2256, which opened the war with the Klingons and ended in the loss of the ship and its captain.
