Admiral Brett Anderson's flagship, destroyed at the Battle of the Binary Stars at the start of the Klingon War.
The USS Europa was a large Starfleet starship of the 2250s and the flagship of Admiral Brett Anderson.
In 2256 the Europa led the Starfleet reinforcements that reached the Binary Stars after the Shenzhou made contact with T'Kuvma's Klingon fleet. Its arrival came just as the standoff collapsed into open battle, and the outnumbered Starfleet ships were overwhelmed when the Klingon Great Houses gathered against them.
During the fighting a cloaked Klingon vessel rammed the Europa's saucer. With the ship crippled and Klingons about to board, Anderson activated the self-destruct, destroying the Europa and taking the Klingon ship with it. Its loss was one of the opening blows of the Klingon War.
