The Trager was a Cardassian Galor-class warship commanded by Gul Macet in 2367, the year after the peace treaty between Cardassia and the Federation. Macet's ship fired on the Enterprise-D near Cardassian space in retaliation for an attack on a Cardassian science station.
In The Wounded, the attacker proved to be Captain Benjamin Maxwell of the USS Phoenix. Macet and two aides came aboard the Enterprise as observers while Picard hunted Maxwell down. Once Maxwell was stopped, Picard warned Macet that the Federation would be watching Cardassia closely.
