Merchant ship of the Karemma, Dominion traders, attacked by the Jem'Hadar while meeting the Defiant to settle trade terms.
The Karemma were a trading people of the Gamma Quadrant and members of the Dominion, and their merchant ships carried goods through the Bajoran wormhole. These lightly armed vessels were no match for Jem'Hadar warships.
In Starship Down, the Defiant met a Karemma ship led by Hanok to settle trade arrangements. Two Jem'Hadar ships attacked the Karemma vessel, and the chase continued into the atmosphere of a gas giant. The Defiant eventually destroyed the second Jem'Hadar ship and rescued the Karemma crew.
