Winged warship of the Bajoran Militia, used by the Circle during its coup and later by Kira against the Romulan blockade of Derna.
The assault vessel was the most heavily armed warship of the Bajoran Militia in the 2370s, a winged craft used to patrol and defend Bajor and its moons.
In The Siege, Bajoran assault vessels approached Deep Space Nine with the forces of the Circle, a xenophobic movement secretly backed by Cardassia, during its attempted coup. In Shadows and Symbols, Kira led a Bajoran fleet that included assault vessels in a stand-off with Romulan warbirds that were guarding weapons placed on Bajor's moon Derna.
