A Starfleet research station orbiting Jupiter.
Jupiter Station is a Starfleet research facility in orbit of Jupiter, in the Sol system. It is best known as the base of Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, the holographic engineer who designed the Emergency Medical Hologram used on Voyager and other Starfleet ships.
The station appears in the Deep Space Nine episode Doctor Bashir, I Presume?, in which Zimmerman visits the station to take scans for a new Long-term Medical Hologram based on Julian Bashir. In the Voyager episode Life Line, Zimmerman is seriously ill at Jupiter Station, and Voyager's Doctor is sent there through a communications link to treat him.
Reginald Barclay works with Zimmerman on the station's holographic projects in Life Line, and the hologram Haley serves as Zimmerman's assistant. The station's link with Zimmerman makes it an important place in the story of how the Doctor came to be.
