Jouret IV was home to the Federation colony of New Providence, wiped out by the Borg at the start of their first invasion of the Federation.
Jouret IV is a planet near the edge of Federation space and was home to the colony of New Providence. In The Best of Both Worlds the Enterprise answered a distress call from the colony and found nothing left but a vast crater where the settlement had stood.
Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Shelby confirmed that the Borg were responsible, the first sign of their invasion of the Federation. Soon afterwards the Borg captured Picard and headed towards Earth, leading to the battle of Wolf 359.
