A Gamma Quadrant planet behind an energy barrier where the Defiant's crew finds a colony of their own descendants.
Gaia is the name the colonists give to the planet in Children of Time, a world wrapped in an unusual energy barrier. When the Defiant investigates, the crew finds about eight thousand people descended from themselves, because passing through the barrier will throw the ship two hundred years into the past and crash it there.
The settlers built an agricultural society, holding festivals and keeping traditions from the crew's cultures. When an older Odo secretly changes the Defiant's course to save Kira, the colony ceases to exist.
