The planet where Khan and his followers were exiled.
Ceti Alpha V is a planet that is best known as the place where Khan Noonien Singh and his followers were left to live after Captain Kirk found them in the original series. It was a harsh but habitable world, and Kirk gave the Augments a chance to begin a new life there.
The neighbouring planet, Ceti Alpha VI, later exploded, which changed the orbit and climate of Ceti Alpha V, turning it into a barren desert. The settlers suffered terribly, and many of the group died, including Khan's wife. The survivors lived in a ruined wasteland and nursed their anger toward Kirk for years.
Khan's exile begins in the episode Space Seed, and the planet returns in the film The Wrath of Khan, in which the crew of the USS Reliant stumbles upon it. Khan seizes the ship and uses it in his pursuit of revenge against Kirk. The planet is a central location in one of the franchise's most famous stories, a tale of obsession and sacrifice.
