A Federation colony attacked by the Klingons during their war with the Federation, where Jake Sisko witnesses the chaos of combat.
Ajilon Prime is a Federation colony that comes under Klingon attack in ...Nor the Battle to the Strong, despite a ceasefire between the two powers. Jake Sisko and Julian Bashir answer its distress call on their way home from a medical conference and end up working in the colony's overwhelmed field hospital.
The siege tests Jake's courage, and he flees under fire before later firing blindly and causing a cave-in that delays the Klingon assault. The Defiant arrives as the Klingons withdraw, and Jake writes an honest account of his experiences there.
