Malaysian Academy Award-winning actress who played both versions of Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek: Discovery and led the film Star Trek: Section 31.
Michelle Yeoh is a Malaysian actress who rose to fame in Hong Kong action cinema before international success in Tomorrow Never Dies, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Crazy Rich Asians. For Everything Everywhere All at Once she won the Academy Award for Best Actress, becoming the first Asian woman to win the award.
In Star Trek: Discovery she played two versions of Philippa Georgiou: the captain of the USS Shenzhou and mentor to Michael Burnham, killed in Battle at the Binary Stars, and her ruthless mirror universe counterpart, the deposed Terran emperor, who later joined Section 31 and remained with the series into its third season.
Yeoh returned to the emperor Georgiou as the lead of the 2025 Paramount+ film Star Trek: Section 31, which follows the character on a covert mission with a team of Section 31 operatives.
