Academy Award-winning American makeup artist who designed alien makeup for The Next Generation and every Star Trek series through Enterprise.
Michael Westmore, an American makeup artist born in 1938 and a member of the Westmore Hollywood makeup dynasty, was hired in 1986 to lead the makeup department on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Over the following nineteen years he and his team created or redesigned hundreds of alien species, including the Next Generation look of the Klingons and the Cardassians, and he won nine Emmy Awards for his Star Trek work.
Westmore continued on Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise until 2005. He won the Academy Award for Makeup for Mask and received a nomination for Star Trek: First Contact.
