Academy Award-winning American actress who played the scheming Bajoran religious leader Kai Winn Adami on Deep Space Nine.
Louise Fletcher was an American actress who won the Academy Award for Best Actress as Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. On Star Trek: Deep Space Nine she played Winn Adami, introduced in In the Hands of the Prophets, a role she returned to throughout the series.
Winn's political cunning and thirst for power made her one of the show's most memorable antagonists, and her storyline culminated in an alliance with Gul Dukat and the Pah-wraiths in the final episodes. Fletcher also earned Emmy nominations for other television work. She died in 2022.
