Canadian actor who played Kor, the first Klingon seen in Star Trek, in Errand of Mercy and three Deep Space Nine episodes.
John Colicos (1928–2000) was a Canadian actor noted for Shakespearean stage work, particularly at the Stratford Festival. Science fiction audiences also know him as the treacherous Count Baltar in the original Battlestar Galactica.
In Errand of Mercy (1967) Colicos played Kor, the Klingon commander occupying Organia, establishing the look and swagger of the Klingons as Kirk's great rivals. He reprised Kor in the Deep Space Nine episodes Blood Oath, The Sword of Kahless and Once More Unto the Breach, playing the aging warrior alongside Worf and Jadzia Dax.
