American actor who played several Star Trek characters, most notably the Vorta Weyoun and the Ferengi Brunt on Deep Space Nine and the Andorian Shran on Enterprise.
Jeffrey Combs is an American actor, born in 1954, who became a horror icon as Herbert West in Re-Animator and appeared in many other genre films. In Star Trek he is admired for playing an unusual number of distinct recurring characters.
On Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Combs played Brunt, the vindictive agent of the Ferengi Commerce Authority, and Weyoun, the smooth Vorta diplomat of the Dominion, whose cloned successors allowed the character to return repeatedly even after his deaths. He also took one-off roles on the series, such as Tiron in Meridian. On Star Trek: Enterprise he played the Andorian commander Shran, who became a wary but valued ally of Jonathan Archer.
Combs is also a prolific voice actor, known for the Scarecrow on The New Batman Adventures and the Question on Justice League Unlimited, and he remains one of the most popular guest performers in the franchise's history.
