British director who helmed Yesterday's Enterprise, Deep Space Nine's pilot Emissary and the feature film Star Trek Generations.
David Carson, a British television and film director who began in British theater and on Coronation Street, made his Star Trek debut with the Next Generation episode The Enemy. When he returned for a second assignment he was moved to Yesterday's Enterprise, one of the series' most celebrated episodes, and he directed several more episodes afterward.
Rick Berman then chose him to direct the Deep Space Nine pilot Emissary, and Carson's final Star Trek work was his first feature, Star Trek Generations, the film that passed the torch from the original crew to the Next Generation cast.
