A 32nd-century faction of raiders who joined Nus Braka in his war on the Federation and helped him deploy stolen Omega 47 mines.
The Venari Ral were allies of the pirate Nus Braka, providing the ships and fighters he needed to strike at Starfleet. During a joint Academy and War College exercise, a Venari Ral vessel ambushed the starship sent to help rescue the cadets, and the faction then raided a Starfleet station and escaped with experimental weapons.
Braka and the Venari Ral used the stolen Omega 47 mines to wall off Federation space and moved to annex planets beyond it. They were finally arrested when Federation ships arrived and the mines were stabilized.
