A cult that worshipped the Pah-wraiths, the evil counterparts of the Prophets, and was led for a time by the former Cardassian prefect Gul Dukat.
The Pah-wraith cult was formed by Bajorans who turned from the Prophets to the Pah-wraiths, the malevolent entities expelled from the Celestial Temple. Such worship was regarded as heresy within mainstream Bajoran faith.
In 2375 Kira Nerys was abducted to the abandoned station Empok Nor, where Gul Dukat presided over a community of followers. Her former teacher Fala, a Bajoran cleric, had become one of them. When a cult member named Mika gave birth to a child plainly fathered by Dukat, he tried to conceal the truth and planned a mass suicide. Kira intervened, and the followers saw Dukat abandon the ritual himself.
The cult's beliefs later drew in Kai Winn, who allied with Dukat in a final attempt to free the Pah-wraiths from the fire caves of Bajor. Their plan ended with both of them dead and the wraiths sealed away again by Benjamin Sisko.
