The Order of the Bat'leth is among the highest honors the Klingon Empire can bestow, named for the curved blade that is the iconic Klingon weapon. Induction is preceded by a full day of drinking and celebration, regarded as a test of a warrior's endurance.
In 2372 Benjamin Sisko, Worf, Odo and Miles O'Brien were surgically disguised as Klingons to infiltrate an induction ceremony at the military stronghold of Ty'Gokor, where Gowron was in attendance. They believed Gowron was a Changeling, but the impostor proved to be General Martok.
