House of Mogh

Klingon Great House of Worf

The Klingon noble house of Worf and his brother Kurn, disgraced by a false charge of treason, later restored, and finally dissolved during the Klingon-Cardassian conflict.

The House of Mogh takes its name from Worf's father, who died in the Khitomer massacre. In 2366 the High Council accused Mogh of having betrayed Khitomer to the Romulans. The charge was false, but to protect the powerful House of Duras the Council demanded a scapegoat, and Worf accepted discommendation to save Kurn's life and avoid civil war.
The house regained its honor in 2368 after Worf and Kurn supported Gowron in the Klingon civil war, a condition of their backing being the restoration of their family name. Worf's son Alexander Rozhenko is also of this line.
In 2372 Worf refused to support Gowron's invasion of Cardassia, and the chancellor stripped the house of its lands and titles. Kurn, unable to bear the dishonor, was given a new identity with his memories erased. Worf was later welcomed into the House of Martok.
