The Federation's news organization, for which Jake Sisko filed reports during the Dominion occupation of Deep Space Nine.
The Federation News Service gathers and distributes news across the Federation. Its reporters cover major events across many worlds, including the wars and crises of the late 24th century.
When the Dominion seized Deep Space Nine in 2374, Jake Sisko remained aboard and worked as a reporter for the service. Weyoun and the occupation authorities suppressed most of what he wrote, but Jake still found ways to send messages to his father through Morn.
