The 2259 Kelvin-timeline attack on a meeting of Starfleet's senior officers in San Francisco, in which Khan killed Christopher Pike.
After the London bombing, Admiral Alexander Marcus called Starfleet's senior captains and first officers to a meeting at Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco. Khan, still known as John Harrison, had expected this and attacked the meeting room from a jumpship.
Christopher Pike was among those killed. Kirk managed to bring down the jumpship, but Khan escaped to the Klingon homeworld of Qo'noS using a portable transwarp device. Kirk asked to lead the hunt for him, and Marcus agreed.
