In 2154 Enterprise found the Xindi weapon being built at Azati Prime, and Archer's attempted suicide attack ended with his capture and the ship badly damaged.
The weapon was under construction beneath the ocean of Azati Prime, a world of the aquatic Xindi. Archer took a captured Xindi shuttle on a one-way mission to destroy it, but he was intercepted and taken prisoner before he could finish.
Enterprise came under attack from Reptilian and Insectoid warships and suffered severe damage and casualties. In captivity Archer began persuading Degra that the Sphere Builders were lying to the Xindi, a turning point that later split the Xindi Council.
