Kirk and a Klingon commander find themselves marooned in a region where ships from many eras are trapped.
While investigating disappearances in the Delta Triangle, the Enterprise is attacked by Klingons, and an ion storm pulls it and a Klingon battlecruiser into a timeless pocket of space filled with derelict ships from many eras. The descendants of the lost crews have formed a government called the Elysian Council, which forbids violence.
The dimension slowly drains the Enterprise's dilithium, so Kirk must cooperate with the Klingon commander Kor and link the two ships so they can power their way out together. James Doohan voiced Kor because John Colicos, who played him in live action, was unavailable. Joyce Perry wrote the episode.
