The wife of George Kirk, who gave birth to their son James aboard a shuttle escaping the destruction of the USS Kelvin.
Winona Kirk is aboard the USS Kelvin with her husband George when the ship is attacked by the Narada in 2233. Already in labour, she is evacuated by shuttle and gives birth as George remains behind to save the crew.
Over the communication channel, the two agree to name their son James after Winona's father, moments before George dies ramming the Kelvin into the Narada. She was played by Jennifer Morrison.
