Wen leads the raiders who repeatedly attack Earth's dilithium supplies in People of Earth. In the 32nd century Earth has left the Federation and is guarded by the United Earth Defense Force, and when Discovery arrives an EDF inspection is interrupted by one of the bandits' attacks.
Michael Burnham and Cleveland Booker trick the raiders and capture Wen. In negotiations with EDF Captain Diatta Ndoye, the two sides realize they can help each other, which ends the fighting and begins to soften Earth's isolation.
