Shy, friendly second host of the Dax symbiont, embodied by Miles O'Brien during Jadzia's zhian'tara.
Tobin Dax was the second host of the Dax symbiont. In Facets, his memories are placed in Miles O'Brien during the zhian'tara, the Trill rite in which a joined Trill meets the personalities of earlier hosts.
Tobin proves shy but friendly, a gentle presence among the hosts Jadzia meets on Deep Space Nine. The chance to speak with him helps Jadzia understand where some of her own quieter traits come from, before the ritual moves on through Emony, Audrid, Torias and Joran to Curzon.
